Installation: Setting Up The Hub

JavaScript is not currently enabled, but is required for full CodeSonar manual search and browse functionality.

If you are viewing this file in your hub's Web GUI, enable JavaScript in your browser: you will also need it for GUI functionality.

If you opened this file directly from disk, your browser may be directly suppressing JavaScript functionality: certain browsers perform this suppression on local files (but not files delivered by web servers) for security reasons.

If you access the manual through the hub's Web GUI, the functionality will not be suppressed because the hub is a web server.
Alternatively, your browser may allow you to explicitly disable the security setting that suppresses functionality. See the CodeSonar FAQ for more information.

Once you have installed CodeSonar, you will need a hub to manage your analysis results.

This section provides a decision tree with links to hub setup directions for typical installation cases.

CodeSonar stores analysis information in a hub database, from which it can be accessed through the associated hub with an ordinary web browser. For full details, see The CodeSonar Hub.

You must have access to a hub in order to run a CodeSonar analysis or browse analysis results.

Use the following decision tree to choose the correct hub setup option for your situation.

Who is responsible for starting or upgrading the hub?

You are responsible for starting/upgrading the hub.
Does a suitable hub already exist?
- YES: Is the hub running the same version of CodeSonar as your new installation?
  - YES: Follow the instructions in Hub Setup: Connecting to an Existing Hub.
  - NO: Follow the instructions in Hub Setup: Upgrading an Existing Hub.
- NO: Follow the instructions in Hub Setup: Starting a New Hub.
Someone in your organization has already created a hub for you to use (or will do so in future).

You are using CodeSonar SaaS.
