Eclipse Tutorial: Make Sure The Hub Is Ready

JavaScript is not currently enabled, but is required for full CodeSonar manual search and browse functionality.

If you are viewing this file in your hub's Web GUI, enable JavaScript in your browser: you will also need it for GUI functionality.

If you opened this file directly from disk, your browser may be directly suppressing JavaScript functionality: certain browsers perform this suppression on local files (but not files delivered by web servers) for security reasons.

If you access the manual through the hub's Web GUI, the functionality will not be suppressed because the hub is a web server.
Alternatively, your browser may allow you to explicitly disable the security setting that suppresses functionality. See the CodeSonar FAQ for more information.

The CodeSonar analysis requires a hub to send its results to. Before running the analysis, you will need to either start a hub or identify a suitable hub that is already running.

If a hub is already available to you, you will need to make sure you know its location. If a hub is not already available, you will need to start one.

To determine your next step, choose from the following list of cases.

I'm not familiar with the idea of a hub.

Go on to Hub Orientation.

I know which hub I will use, and it's currently running.

Make a note of the hub location host:port, then go on to Eclipse Tutorial: Files.

I know which hub I will use, but it's not running at the moment.

Are you the hub owner?
- YES: Restart the hub now.
  - Run the following command to start the hub.
    codesonar hub-start path/to/hubdir host:port
    where path/to/hubdir is the hub directory, and host:port is the hub location.
    If you prefer to start your hub in a different way (for example, by using the configuration tool), do that instead.
- NO: Contact the hub owner and ask them to start the hub (and for the hub location host:port, if you don't already know it).
Once the hub has started, go on to Eclipse Tutorial: Files.

I know which hub I will use, but I'm not sure whether it's running or not.

Run the following command to determine whether or not the hub is running.
codesonar hub-info -force host:port
where host:port is the hub location.
- If the command outputs a table of hub information, the hub is running at host:port: go on to Eclipse Tutorial: Files.
- If the command outputs a message saying it could not connect to the hub, the hub is not running (or there is some other problem): see I know which hub I will use, but it's not running at the moment.

I think there is a hub I can use, but I'm not sure where it is.

Go on to Locate the Hub.

There is no existing hub that I can use, so I will need to start one.
